What you'll learn
Train the seafarers with the required basic safety training as per the STCW 1978 as amended.
Follow the STCW code section A-VI/1-1 . IMO model course 1.19
Upon successful completion, you will learn the types of emergency situations onboard, types of LSA onboard and their use. e.g. lifeboats, life rafts
Location personal life saving appliances and their proper use and donning, e.g. life jackets, life buoys, immersion suits
Radio life saving appliances, their use. Survival at sea and dangers to survivors

This course is designed to meet the mandatory minimum standards of competence for seafarers for safety familiarization, basic training and instruction in Personal Survival Techniques. The objective is to provide trainees with guidance and information to gain knowledge, Understanding and proficiency (KUP) required to achieve the objectives of the learning Outcomes to demonstrate their competence in personal survival techniques. Course is ideally suitable for anyone who wants to learn about survival at sea. Especially if you happen to sail onboard a ship for a career at sea, any school leaver who has interest to study about this subject.
